What Makes a Good Star Wars Story? The Cavan Scott Interview

One of the ideas that we’ve tried to continue to present on this show for more than four years now, is that Star Wars is best when it’s viewed through the eyes of a children. A few months ago, I was scrolling through Twitter when I saw someone tweeting about how they were experiencing the same thing while watching Star Wars Rebels. That someone was none other than Star Wars author, Cavan Scott. He’s with me on today’s show to discuss it and a lot more. THIS is Tatooine Sons.

Cavan Scott is a New York Times bestselling author whose work includes novels, television, comic books and award winning audio dramas. He has written for a large number of high-profile series including Star Wars, Batman, Doctor Who, Assassin’s Creed, Pacific Rim, Transformers, Back to the Future, Star Trek, Vikings, Adventure Time and more. His latest creator-owned comic book series, the supernatural urban fantasy Shadow Service, launched in 2020 from Vault comics.

Cavan’s website is the best place to go for news (www.cavanscott.com) and be sure to follow @cavanscott on Twitter. Phase one of Star Wars: The High Republic reaches its galaxy-shaking conclusion in Star Wars: The High Republic written by Cavan Scott. Only one person can save the Jedi from the mysterious monsters that stalk Starlight Beacon. Who will live and who will die? Be sure to grab your copy. And if you’re a DC Comics fan like BB-N8, you’ll want to check out Cavan’s work Titans United. His run finishes this month, but there is more DC Comics work on the horizon. And Cavan’s creator-owned comic Shadow Service is returning from Vault this April.
